Light in the Dark (A Candle-Lighting Ritual)

When to Use It: When grief feels heavy, or when you need a quiet moment of remembrance — especially at night, on anniversaries, or significant dates.
Why It Matters: A candle becomes a small act of devotion; a visible symbol of memory and presence. It grounds your love in light.

Steps:

  1. Sit in stillness with an unlit candle.

  2. Take three deep breaths. Say their name.

  3. Light the candle slowly, with intention.

  4. Whisper a message, aloud or silently.

  5. Watch the flame. Let it hold your love.

  6. Stay as long as needed. Blow out the candle (or let it burn safely).

Optional Add-Ons:

  • Add a photo or memento beside the flame.

  • Write a thought in a candle journal.

  • Pair with music or a favourite scent.

Blessing:
“Though the world is darker without you, your light remains in me. Tonight, I remember. I feel. I honour. You are not forgotten.”
