The Deathaversary (Marking the Day)

When to Use It: On the anniversary of their death. The day the world changed.
Why It Matters: Grief marks time differently. This day holds weight — and it deserves to be acknowledged.

Steps:

  1. Plan ahead: decide what you need; solitude, ritual, or people.

  2. Light a candle at the same time they passed (if known).

  3. Read something aloud; their favourite poem or your own words.

  4. Visit a place they loved, or create a small altar at home.

  5. Let yourself cry, laugh, ache; or feel nothing.

Optional Add-Ons:

  • Begin a new tradition to honour them.

  • Write a yearly letter.

  • Share a post or private message to the world.

Blessing:
“This date will never be just a date again. It’s a circle on the calendar where the world stopped. And where I still remember.”
