The Saying of the Name

When to Use It: When people stop mentioning them. When you feel like their memory is fading.
Why It Matters: Saying their name is resistance to forgetting. It’s an act of love that keeps them real.

Steps:

  1. Say their name aloud. Just that. Say it again.

  2. Whisper it to the wind, write it in sand, carve it in your day.

  3. Tell someone a story with their name at the centre.

  4. Let their name be a daily act.

Optional Add-Ons:

  • Create a ritual object with their name (stone, tile, necklace).

  • Write their name with chalk in a secret place.

Blessing:
“Your name is still mine to speak. You are not gone; you are named. Over and over again.”
