Silence:

The Truth About Suicide and Those Left Behind

Silence

Suicide is surrounded by silence; the heavy kind, the dangerous kind.
After my daughter Kahlia died, I discovered how much of that silence is built from fear, shame, and old myths that refuse to die.

Silence is my attempt to change that.

It’s a book about what suicide really is… and what it isn’t.
It’s about the science, the stories, the patterns, and the truths we rarely name out loud.
It’s about the people who live with suicidal thoughts, the families left behind, and the cultural blind spots that keep us all stuck.

This isn’t a book of blame.
It’s a book of clarity, courage, and compassion - the kind that helps people feel less alone.

If you’ve lost someone.
If you’ve struggled yourself.
If you want to understand.
You belong in these pages.

About the book

  • Scenic landscape with a large body of turquoise water, rolling green hills, and mountains in the background under an overcast sky.

    What you'll find inside

Inside Silence, you’ll find the truths we’re never taught about suicide — the ones hidden beneath stigma, fear, and good intentions that miss the mark.

    You’ll learn about:

    the science of suicidal thinking

the myths that keep families blaming themselves

the cultural silence that leaves people suffering alone

    the impossible questions survivors carry

the shame that shuts down real conversations

the love that remains, even after the unthinkable

This book gives you language for what has always been hard to say.

  • A modern house situated on a hilly green landscape with snow-capped mountains in the background under a cloudy sky.

    Who is this for?

    This book is for anyone who has ever been touched by suicide;
those who have lost someone, those who have struggled themselves, and those who want to finally understand what’s really happening beneath the surface.

It’s for parents, partners, friends, clinicians, educators, and anyone who has ever said,
“I wish someone had told me the truth.”

  • Modern wooden house with a large glass window, set against a mountainous landscape with dry grass and small trees in the foreground.

    A glimpse inside

People like to believe love can stop suicide because the alternative is too terrifying.
If love cannot save someone, then what can.
If love cannot anchor a collapsing mind, then what does safety even mean.
If love is not strong enough to pull someone back from the edge, then love loses something people depend on.

    Its magic.
    Its certainty.
    Its promise.

So the world clings to the myth.
Not because it is true, but because the truth threatens everything we want to believe about connection.
